Baba Ali

Baba Ali is the combined force of US-native Baba Doherty and British guitarist Nik Balchin. Formed in London in 2019, Baba Ali soon came to the attention of Jamie Hince (The Kills), who produced the band’s EP This House. Released on Danger Mouse’s 30th Century Records, the EP’s lead single ‘House’ received enthusiastic support from BBC 6 Music’s Lauren Laverne and BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders.

Baba Ali released their second album, Laugh Like A Bomb, (Memphis Industries, 2023). with the lead single ‘Burn Me Out’ received heavy airplay on both Radio 1 and BBC 6 Music and the duo performed the song for their live TV debut on Later…with Jools Holland
